JOSE PARRA "Diego" (EXCERPT)

Watercolor Juan Valdivia

DIEGO (Fragment)

I

live is to remember! And who forgets
dear youth?
That perpetual mercy bienandanza
planting flowers we
way
, and shows us the fate
sunlit of hope!

II

Who, even finding the desired port,
does not get tired!
Who to feel the aching soul
the world by the rough thistles,
Ay! do not turn your eyes
to the early years of life!

III

peaceful hours I forget the
; of laughter seductive
home that swollen with tenderness
deals us our loving mother!
How can I forget,
crib where I was born, noble Baeza!

IV

My beloved city of Andalusia
where they lived happy
together with loved ones,
do city spent my childhood serene
; and whose name sounds
which celestial music in my ears.

V

Today
cruel nostalgia that devours me,
; benefactor pays
heart sweet consolation
because the thought of you, dear homeland,
recovery that life
that peaceful enjoyed under your sky!

VI

Behold the majesty with which overlooks
; on steep hill
and magnificent skyline dominates
standing proud as if it were
; a warrior city
to cry rubble ruin!

VII

As a strong belts,
; their old towers
and broken walls around it,
and waters of the mighty Betis,
His pasture delightful
and fertile plains fertilized.

VIII
How beautiful and what a rich fertile soil!
How happy the sky!
much history to think invites,
and its beautiful gardens and pleasant,
; many, many scenes
remind the suffering soul!
