Prayers of the Native American INDIAN
Prayer NATIVE NORTH AMERICAN INDIANS
Oh great spirit!
Whose voice I hear in the wind, Whose
alien, to give life to the world.
yes!
I come to you,
one of your many children I am weak and small
need your strength, your wisdom
and let me walk among the beautiful things
and make my eyes
admire the golden sunset. Make my hands
respect what you've created,
and
my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so
to recognize the wisdom and know the things you have hidden in every leaf and every rock.
seek your strength,
not to be superior to my brothers, but to be right
to fight my greatest enemy: myself
. Make
always is willing to come to you with clean hands and straight eye.
So, when life goes out as the evening light,
my spirit may come to you without shame.
