A spectacular film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Gerard Depardieu, released on October 12, 1992, recalls the Discovery of America to mark the fifth anniversary of the event. The film begins with Christopher Columbus in the Monastery of La Rabida and concludes after release from prison of the discoverer.
